Matcha Shortbread Cookies

  • 1 stick of butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 3/4 cups of flour (sifted)
  • 1 TBS Matcha
  • 1 cup of white chocolate chips (optional)


  1. Mix softened butter and sugar in electric mixture for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Gradually add sifted flour and matcha powder. Mix until well combined.
  3. Stir in white chocolate chips.
  4. Put dough in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Make dough into desired shape and place on wax paper lined cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 12-13 minutes.
  7. Enjoy!

Matcha Fondue: Easy & Delicious!

Thank you to everyone that joined The Green Teahouse in West Hartford, CT for our MATCHA MADNESS BEAU-TEA PARTY! It was such a fun & exciting night!

We hope everyone enjoyed the Matcha Martinis, Matcha cupcakes (supplied by the wonderful Nan Price, The Uncommon Cupcake), Matcha Shamrock Cookies, Matcha Facials (from the lovely Holly Wheeler, Field To Face Organic Beauty), Matcha Smoothies, and the delicious Matcha dipped treats, which is the recipe we have to share with you! It’s quick, easy and absolutely delicious! And it only requires two ingredients.

We dipped strawberries, pretzels, Kit-Kats, pirouettes, and our favorite tea biscuits for the tea party. You can get creative and add some Matcha magic to any of your favorite treats like, chocolate chip cookies, bananas, orange slices, chocolate bars & more!




  • 12 oz white chocolate chips
  • 1 TBS Matcha powder


  1. Place white chocolate chips in double boiler over medium-low heat. (If you don’t have a double boiler, fill a large saucepan halfway with water and place a smaller saucepan inside that, so that the bottom of the small pan is submerged in water).
  2. Once white chocolate begins to melt sift in the matcha and stir until well combined.
  3. Dip your favorite treats in the matcha fondue then place on a wax-paper lined baking sheet.
  4. Place tray in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes or until white chocolate hardens.
  5. Share and enjoy with your family & friends!

Matcha Sugar Cookies

What’s Christmas without sugar cookies?! If you’re looking for a new recipe, then look no further & try…MATCHA SUGAR COOKIES. Festive, fun, easy & delicious!

  • 2/3 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 TSP vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 TBS Organic Grade A Matcha 
  • 1 TSP baking powder
  • 1/2 TSP salt


  1. In a large bowl, beat butter & sugar together until light and fluffy; then beat in egg and vanilla.
  2. Whisk together flour, matcha green tea powder, baking powder and salt in small bowl; gradually stir into butter mixture until dough forms together.
  3. Divide dough in half and wrap each ball in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Let stand at room temperature until soft enough to roll out, about 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper & set aside.
  5. Place dough on lightly floured surface & roll into 1/4 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to form into cookie. Place on cookie sheets about 1 inch apart.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown. After cookies are done, transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. Enjoy!



Chai Snickerdoodles

Spice up a classic cookie recipe with CHAI TEA. The subtle flavor of the ginger, clove, cardamom & black pepper perfectly compliments the cinnamon-sugar & buttery flavors of SNICKERDOODLE COOKIES.

For this recipe we recommend using your choice of a Green Teahouse chai like, Caramel Cider Chai, Masala Chai, or Vanilla Cream Chai. We hope you enjoy the recipe! Spread the love of tea this season, Happy Holidays!

  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 stick salted butter
  • 2 TBS. Caramel Cider Chai
  • 2-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 TBS. cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup superfine sugar


  1. Melt butter in either double boiler or microwave. Steep Caramel Cider Chai in melted butter for 5 minutes (we recommend steeping for longer for a stronger taste).
  2. After steeping, strain tea from butter. Allow butter to come to room temperature.
  3. In a large bowl sift flour, cream of tartar, baking soda & salt together and set aside.
  4. Beat together butter & sugar in an electric mixer at medium speed for about 2 minutes (or until fluffy).
  5. Add eggs & beat until fully mixed.
  6. Add flour mixture in 1/2 increments, beating until combined. Chill dough for an hour or overnight until it’s firm & cold.
  7. After dough has chilled, preheat oven to 400°F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  8. In a small bowl combine cinnamon & sugar. Form dough into 1-inch balls & roll them in cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  9. Space cookies 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Let cookies cool for about 5 minutes on wire cooling rack.
  11. Enjoy!

  • 3/4  cup confectioner’s sugar
  • 1 1/2 TBSP Matcha
  • 10 TBSP unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (to coat dough)


  1. Whisk confectioner’s sugar and matcha powder together.
  2. Beat butter and matcha-sugar mixture together in an electric mixer (use paddle attachment) until the butter is smooth.
  3. Add flour & stir until just combined.
  4. Mix egg yolks in until fully incorporated & the dough forms together.
  5. Gather dough into a ball & wrap in plastic then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or until firm.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  7. Use rolling pin to roll dough to about 1/2-inch thickness. Use your favorite cookie cutter to cut shapes from dough.
  8. Roll cut shapes in granulated sugar & place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes or until they begin to turn golden at the edges.
  10. After baking let cookies cool & enjoy!
