Cinco de Mayo is almost here & margaritas are on everyone’s mind! Put a spin on a classic & get mixing with TEA.

A lot of restaurants & bars use margarita mix, which is loaded with sugar, empty calories & artificial ingredients (leaving you with a terrible headache the next morning!)

Watermelon Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Silver Tequila
  • 3 oz Sweet Watermelon Tea
  • 1 tbs Agave
  • 1/4 cup coarse salt (for rimming glass) optional
  • fresh berries to garnish

Directions:

  1. Steep 1 tbs of Sweet Watermelon in 3 oz boiling water for 3 minutes. While tea is steeping sweeten with agave.
  2. Strain out tea leaves & let tea cool for about 5 minutes.
  3. While tea is cooling, prepare cocktail glass with salt rim if desired (*see below for easy DIY tip). 
  4. Fill glass with ice then pour in tea & tequila.
  5. Garnish & enjoy!

 


 

Starfruit Green Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Reposado Tequila
  • 3 oz Starfruit Green Tea
  • 2 tbs fresh-squeezed lime juice
  • 1 tbs Agave
  • pineapple slices

Directions:

  1. Steep 1 tbs Starfruit Green in 3 oz of under-boiled water (170°F) for 2 minutes. While tea is steeping sweeten with agave.
  2. Strain out tea leaves & let tea cool for about 5 minutes.
  3. While tea is cooling, prepare cocktail glass & lime juice.
  4. Fill glass with ice then pour in tea & tequila.
  5. Top it off with lime juice, garnish & enjoy!

 


Tangerine Ginger Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Gold Tequila
  • 3 oz Tangerine Ginger Tea
  • 2 tbs fresh-squeezed orange juice
  • 1 tbs Agave
  • lemon/orange slice to garnish

Directions:

  1. Steep 1 tbs Tangerine Ginger in 3 oz of boiling water for 3 minutes. While tea is steeping sweeten with agave.
  2. Strain out tea leaves & let cool for about 5 minutes.
  3. While tea is cooling prepare cocktail glass & orange juice.
  4. Fill glass with ice then pour in tea & tequila.
  5. Top it off with orange juice, garnish & enjoy!

Enjoy your margarita with salt?

*To Rim Glass: Run a lime wedge along the rim of your cocktail glass. Pour 1/4 cup coarse salt onto a small plate. Hold glass upside down & twist the rim in the salt back & forth until its evenly coated.*

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Steep teas in 8 oz hot water for 3 minutes.
  2. While tea is steeping stir in sweetener.
  3. Fill cup with 8 oz of ice.
  4. Pour steeped tea over ice.
  5. Top with milk, a dash of cinnamon & enjoy!

DIY Cold Steeping

There’s no better way to cool down during a heat wave than with a refreshing cup of iced tea! Follow this step-by-step guide to make a perfect pitcher of iced tea. Make life easy & prepare it the night before your next picnic, BBQ or beach trip.

1) MEASURE 16 TBS TEA FOR EVERY 16 OZ OF WATER

2) ADD TEA TO PITCHER

FILL PITCHER WITH COLD WATER & STORE IN FRIDGE FOR AT LEAST 4 HRS

We recommend using 1 TBS of tea for every 16 oz of water. So if your iced tea pitcher is a gallon, then you will use 8 tablespoons of tea.

LIKE YOUR TEA SWEET?

  1. Fill pitcher half-way with cold water.
  2. Dissolve desired amount of honey in 1 cup of hot water & add to pitcher.
  3. Then fill pitcher with more cold water until full.

If you prefer a stronger flavor, add an extra tablespoon of tea or refrigerate overnight!

 

 

4TH of July Tea Cocktail: Berry Bliss

IMG_3115July is a wonderful time of year! We get to enjoy gorgeous weather, the outdoors, berry picking, cookouts with family & friends, and of course The Fourth of July!

We have a delicious & hydrating tea cocktail recipe to help you celebrate called, BERRY BLISS! It’s a blend of two popular summer teas Blueberry Silver, & Strawberry Slim Pu-erh. Whether you’re having a BBQ or heading to the beach, this drink is easy & simple to make.

It offers a rich berry flavor, plus health benefits like: antioxidants, vitamins, boosting metabolism, & detoxifying the body!

Making this recipe is EASY! The first step can be done the night before…

BSN picnic

Step One:

  • In a gallon sized iced tea pitcher add 7 TSP of both Blueberry Silver & Strawberry Slim
  • Fill pitcher half-way with room temperature water
  • Dissolve 3/4 cup of honey in 1 cup of boiling water & add to pitcher
  • Fill rest of pitcher with room temperature water
  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight)

~BERRY BLISS TEA COCKTAIL RECIPE~

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz. Berry Bliss Tea blend (see preparation above)
  • 2 oz. Vodka
  • Ice
  • Fresh lemon, mint or berries for garnish

Directions:

  1. Fill 16 oz glass with ice.
  2. Add vodka, followed by tea and stir well.
  3. Garnish with a lemon wedge, fresh mint or berries
  4. ENJOY & please drink responsibly

What’s summer without iced tea?

Making iced tea at home is easy!

Follow these simple steps & you can make a perfect pitcher of iced tea for your next BBQ, beach trip, or to keep in the fridge & enjoy throughout the week.


For this tutorial we used Pink Cherry Cider, a very fruity white tea.  If you follow this ratio you can make any amount of iced tea…

1 TBS Tea / 16 oz Water

what you need

Directions:

(Yields 1 Gallon of Iced Tea)

  1. Add 8 TBS of tea to iced tea pitcher.*
  2. Fill pitcher with room temperature water.
  3. If you like your tea sweetened, add 1/3 cup of honey to 1 oz of hot water & stir until it is dissolved, then pour into pitcher.
  4. Store tea in fridge overnight.
  5. The next morning, strain out the tea leaves & you’ll have a perfect pitcher of iced tea ready to enjoy!
*You can use either a plastic or glass pitcher for iced tea. If using plastic, we recommend one that’s BPA free*
